I had heard about the pictographs in Paint Rock. Little did I know what an impact my visit to the Campbell Ranch would have on my creative journey! Mrs. Campbell gave me a tour. So many images painted with red dirt and buffalo fat. Towards the end, when she showed me the rock with the cross with feet, and the woman with a veil, she told me a fascinating story. What? A cloistered nun who bilocated from Spain to the Southwest to teach the Jumanos about Jesus? That night I began my research. This is when I became obsessed to tell the story of Sor María de Ágreda, the indigenous named the “Lady in Blue”. ~ Cynthia Jordan
